Machinist 2

Norfolk, VA Full-Time Assembly

First and second shift CNC Machinist operating lathes and mills to fabricate precision parts to engineering specifications. Independent setup, offsets, blueprint reading, and GD&T required. Minimum 3 years experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate CNC lathe machines; adjust speeds, feeds, coolant flow, depth of cut, and tooling offsets
  • Load and edit CNC programs; verify work offsets using dial indicators, edge finders, and probes
  • Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and thread gauges
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years CNC lathe/mill experience; strong mechanical ability
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T independently
  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent technical school certification required

Experienced CNC Machinist needed for precision lathe and mill work. Set up jobs independently, make offsets, read blueprints, and hold tight tolerances. 1st and 2nd shifts available.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate CNC lathe and mill machines; adjust speeds, feeds, coolant flow, depth of cut, and tooling offsets; load and edit programs as needed.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings including GD&T; perform first-piece and in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and thread gauges.
  • Troubleshoot out-of-tolerance conditions and tooling issues; complete all required production and quality documentation accurately.
